Don Engebretson, The Renegade Gardener, is a former Field Editor and garden scout for Better Homes and Gardens magazine and writes for a variety of newspapers and magazines across the country. He spent time as gardening guru on the HGTV hit show, TIPical Mary Ellen and worked as a landscape design expert on the popular PBS program, HOMETIME. A professional landscape designer, Don has a witty, insightful take on the state of gardening in America today. He preaches that the joy of gardening comes from experimentation, and a passion for gardening comes from failing, laughing, succeeding and learning. Attend one of his seminars for tips and techniques on how to become a better gardener.

Gardening for the Birds, Bees & Butterflies
It’s the number one trend in gardening, and in this concise and authoritative talk, Don presents not just the procedures but the best plants and design tips to create an essential sanctuary for pollinators as well as our larger feathered friends. Attendees will receive valuable handouts with details on the best native pollinator perennials for the St. Louis area, best trees and shrubs for bird habitat, plus best local resources for plants and information.

12 Pro Landscaper's Tips I Bet You Don't Know
What do professional landscapers know about gardening that you don’t? Plenty. Can you choose the healthiest tree or shrub at your nursery from the eight seemingly identical plants in the row? Know how to plant a gorgeous perennial garden without drawing little circles on paper? Or how to dig a proper hole, for that matter? Don will share insights gleaned from his decades of experience in this informative presentation. If you DO know all 12, you’ll win a prize!

Candice Wideman, Owner & Principal Designer of Youtopia Designs, is a professionally trained and qualified interior designer. She is an active Allied Member and current President of the St. Louis Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and a member of the Home Builders Association (HBA). Candice's passion for interior design began at an early age, constantly transforming her and her brother's rooms into different looks. Her love for design only grew stronger, and after graduating from Maryville University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, she pursued a successful career in interior design. She will talk about the latest design trends for people’s most popular rooms and share tips for designing high-demand spaces like home offices and outdoor living areas.
